The first million gained. Another ship with LNG arrives from Qatarstatek z Kataru z LNG

One million of cubic meters of liquefied natural gas – this is how much gas will arrive at the Lech Kaczyński LNG Terminal after unloading another gas tanker which arrives today to Świnoujście.

The vessel is a gas tanker with the name of Al Khuwair belonging to Qatargas Operating Company Limited. This is another commercial delivery under the long-term agreement for the purchase of the gas. In total, this will be the fifth transport of gas by sea to Poland, counting from December last year.
The load of the first two deliveries was allocated for the cooling down and start-up of the installation. The third delivery of LNG was the first commercial delivery of the Świnoujście gas port. The next delivery was the only one so far which was ordered based on the spot conditions, i.e. contracted under the terms and conditions specified in the short-term regasification contract.

Then the Norwegian vessel, “Arctic Princess” arrived in Świnoujście and delivered 140 thousand cubic meters of gas. This was a gas tanker with characteristic round tanks. This time, we can see a Q-flex type vessel, where LNG is stored in membrane tanks, using the hull of the ship as the carrying structure. Al Khuwair is 315 meters long and 50 meters wide. This time, 212 thousand cubic meters  of LNG will be unloaded. “In total, Lech Kaczyński Terminal has already accepted more than a million cubic meters of liquefied gas,” said Tomasz Stępień, President of the GAZ-SYSTEM.

The material which will undergo the regasification process, i.e. a process of changing the liquid form to gaseous form, will be transported to the national transmission system in the quantity of approx. 127 million of cubic meters of natural gas. Upon being controlled at the measurement station, the gas is directed straight to the Świnoujście-Szczecin pipeline, from where it is subsequently transferred to the rest of the GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. transmission infrastructure, and then, to the customers.
